2010 MS-150 Training Schedule
In case of bad weather check the
Bike Club Hotline @ 281-293-2931
This is the training schedule from the 2009 series. This page will be updated soon to reflect the new core teams and any changes in the training schedule.
The National MS Society promotes a number of Recommended MS150 Training Rides. More organized rides are also available on the BikeTexas web site. The entry fees for these organized rides average $20 -25. The ConocoPhillips series will prepare you for the MS150 tour, but with the addition of a few organized Sunday rides, you (and your posterior) will be better prepared for the morning of Day Two in LaGrange.
Michael at EverydayHealth forwarded this fun widget to us. Just fill in the data, click to calulate, and you can figure out how many calories you're allowed to eat after the ride. Steve will go into more detail later, but the longer and harder the ride, the more ice cream you're allowed to eat :)

Waller / HempsteadWe will start at Waller Stadium, 20950 Field Store Rd, 77484 - To get to the start of the ride: Take Hwy 290 northwest to the Field Store Rd exit. Exit and turn LEFT under 290. The stadium is on your right just a few hundred yards south of 290.There is parking in the front (east ) as well as on the south side. The porta-lets will be over on the south side of the stadium as will the sign-in area. It's a bit hidden from the street by a few buildings. Parking will be tight so please be sure to find a backup carpool if some of your normal riders are on Spring Break this weekend. If you have to overflow and park on the street, be sure to not block any mailboxes, driveways or park in a no-parking zone. This week, we will be heading to Waller Stadium northwest of town and heading out to Burleigh, then to Hempstead, and back to Waller. The long ride adds an optional loop from Burleigh out to Bellville and back on FM-529. If you do the Bellville loop, you will ride about 18.5 miles of the Day 1 route of the BP MS150. This is the section of Day 1 where you first get into the rolling roads on the way to Bellville. FM-529 is a very pleasant rolling road but there is moderate traffic so please ride single file except when you need to make a pass and remember to listen for approaching riders (who promise to announce their approach) as well as traffic. |
